Any ideas for site redesign?
Mar 20th, 2009 by swoopostrategyguide

Hi everyone, I hope you are all doing well. I’ll be coming out with a new site design on BeatSwoopo that should be much easier for people to use and see how the product works. I’m also debating whether or not to put the blog up to be linked to that site as well.

Is there anyone that has any suggestions for the redesign such as things you would like to see, frequent updates on a new blog on Beat Swoopo, or anything else you have in mind? I’m open for anything, so just let me know and I’ll see how I can work it in.

Cheers,

Dave

Beat Swoopo iPhone & More Update
Feb 27th, 2009 by swoopostrategyguide

Hey! Just wanted to give you an update on the Beat Swoopo data update. I pulled another 10,000 auctions last night but it’s going to take me some time to categorize it. I am hoping to have all my data pulling and auction information out there by Sunday night!

One thing I did notice is that Swoopo is doing REALLY well. They have a huge number of auctions going every day, which is great for the consumers. This spreads the audience out and decreases competition. I’m excited to see what the data says. I’ll keep you posted throughout the weekend to let you know when the new Excel file is ready! There are tons and tons of new auctions so this is going to be really really accurate for more precise bidding recommendations. NICE.

Cheers,
Dave

PS - You might want to know why I’m updating the sheet. Well, basically it’s going to give you an edge over all the rest of the Swoopo bidders. You’ll be able to see the most accurate trends available so you know exactly when to bid. This includes the iPhone certificate and many more new auctions. I’m pretty excited myself to see what it says!

Beat Swoopo Releases Volume 2!
Feb 24th, 2009 by swoopostrategyguide

So, the news has been out there for a while, but I wanted to let you guys know of a few things. There are a few Swoopo manuals out there that will help you win swoopo auctions, but there is one that you must have if you want to be serious about winning.  The Beat Swoopo strategy guide is focused on bringing you accurate statistics that will help you win auctions.  There are a few things that set Beat Swoopo apart from the rest.  Here is what is included:

1.  eBook in PDF format (standard Adobe Reader)
2.  15,246 Sampled Auctions for the most accurate stats on when and how to bid by product
3.  Swoopo Basics Section
4.  Product by Product Analysis
5.  Time of Day Analysis
6.  Data Tables
7.  Video Tutorials
8.  And the Interactive Excel spreadsheet that lets you sort and filter by any combination of the following: Product Name, Product Type, Category, or Day of the Week.  The Exel Spreadsheet will spit out a graph that will tell you the best time for bidding.  Check  out my video on YouTube that explains how to use the sheet!
10.  Lastly, you will get a holiday guide in the eBook that will tell you national holidays in the countries that Swoopo is operating in and strategies for those days.

As the author of Beat Swoopo, I want you to feel free to feel free to contact me with any questions.  Also, feel free to check out the Swoopo Strategy Guide website if you’re thinking about purchasing Beat Swoopo!

Cheers! - Dave

Swoopo Daily Deals & Announcements
Feb 22nd, 2009 by swoopostrategyguide

Hey! I hope everyone had a nice weekend! That warm weather is coming soon enough! :)

Swoopo puts out announcements on an almost daily basis.  They let you know what they have a few deals on and set up a special page for these products.  They present it almost as a promotion with a fun little line of text such as:

“Smell Great This Weekend!” & ”Get All Your Bids Back Today!”

These promotions definitely draw a whole lot of attention, as they should.  That’s why I would recommend staying under the radar and avoiding these promotional type auctions from Swoopo.  The increased competition here makes it more difficult to step in and win these auctions as they do not follow the regular trends (found in the Beat Swoopo Vol. 2 Excel Sheet) and you will most likely end up losing money.

If you find yourself often losing auctions, or have a difficult time judging when to start bidding on Swoopo auctions, feel free to check out Beat Swoopo where you can learn more about winning Swoopo auctions and decreasing your time staring at the computer screen and increasing time playing with your new toys!

Swoopo Video Updates and Tips from Beat Swoopo
Feb 20th, 2009 by swoopostrategyguide

Hey! Feel free to check out the video of some observations I made on Swoopo last night. People are definitely still getting some good deals! I saw an auction for a 37″ TV go for less than $5.00 and only $22.00 on bids! Check out the video and let me know your thoughts.

If you’re interested in purchasing Excel sheet shown in the video, please follow the link below. I am offering a 20% discount if you sign up on http://www.swoopostrategyguide.com! I know the site looks a little bad, but I’m working on touching it up! The email form and discount work perfectly! Please let me know if you have any questions by using the contact form or emailing me directly with the email link above.

Cheers,

The Basics - As if you didn’t know them already…
Feb 17th, 2009 by swoopostrategyguide

So you want to know what it’s all about. Swoopo is the latest internet craze. When eBay came out, many people doubted the legality of selling items on the internet. The same thing with Swoopo, the only difference is that it is being controlled by a company who is providing the items to the consumers, rather than consumers providing and selling to their peers.

Another difference between eBay and Swoopo is that you must buy your right to bid on Swoopo. This is where most of the controversy comes in. Even though you are not guaranteed a win, you still have to buy your bids in packs. Big deal, right? Right. Every time you hit the ‘Bid Now” button, it costs you $0.75! The next catch, is that the price (of the average Swoopo auction) only rises by $0.15 cents very time you place one $0.75 bid. Yes, Swoopo is theoretically making $0.90 every time someone bids on a product (not factoring in procurement costs). Not too shabby for Swoopo, right? Right.

Well, there has been a huge uproar on the internet regarding Swoopo’s approach to online auctions, but it is not a new system. Swoopo started out as Telebid and was only in the UK. The company has been around for the last 4 to 5 years, but has not had nearly the amount of publicity as it has in recent months. The site gained much more popularity after rebranding and launching in the US markets in August 2008.

Today, Swoopo has many competitors as the technology has been cloned, duped, and copied several times over, yet Swoopo remains the most popular, and definitely the most reliable. I have spoken to many people who have won auctions on Swoopo and have been pleased with their products.

So, back to the PS3. If the bidding starts as $0.00, and the auction receives 10 bids, the auction price goes up to $1.50. While the auction prices goes up to $1.50, Swoopo has made $9.00. That’s $9.00 that goes directly to their cost of goods sold ($399.99 in the PS3 case). If someone sees a PS3 going for $1.50, immediately the thought process is, “Ok, that’s cheap, I’ll bid.” That’s how people get sucked into Swoopo and end up losing a lot of money. Swoopo needs 445 bids on Swoopo to make up for the cost of that PS3. Funny thing is, that 445 bids makes the price of the auction only seem like Swoopo is making $66.75. In this example, that is Swoopo’s break even. Anything more than that is purely profit. Genius!

I would like to know what you think about Swoopo. Have you tried it? Do you like their business model? Have you won anything on Swoopo? I’m anxious to hear your stories!

Cheers,
Dave
